Brief explanation of the elections process

To what are these elections related?

To the Executive Board. The elections relate exclusively to electing the Society’s management team. 

The Executive Board

The Executive Board is composed of six (6) EULS members. The elected officers are the President, the Vice-President, the Treasurer, two (2) Vocals (or Board Officers). The one (1) remaining member is the Observer and he/she is appointed by the Executive Board after its election.

Right to vote/to be voted

The EULS electoral system allows all EULS members which are current NYU Law students to vote/be voted as representatives in the Executive Board.

How to become a member eligible to vote?

If you are a current NYU Law student, and you are not already a member, you may sign up to the form here: https://www.coing.co/u/db203a7e0f

Candidacies

Candidates to a position in the Executive Board may be either individual or collective (i.e., groups of students who will run for the position of President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Vocals).

Candidacies shall be uploaded to the EULS Elections page up until one week before the elections (see above for the deadline) and shall indicate for which position each candidate intends to run for. In case of a Team, the positions will be arranged between the members of the Team and will be disclosed beforehand.

Each individual Voting Member running for a position should introduce himself/herself to the Voting Members at least one week before elections, through any means necessary.
