What does it actually mean to keep kosher for passover? Learn the tachles/the actionable details -- what are the range of things people mean when they say "I keep kosher for passover"? How do you make kitchen utensil kosher? What do people refrain from eating? And why is all of it such a big deal?

We'll start with about 30 minutes of study & discussion, and then get to work learning-through-doing by literally kashering the Base kitchen. There will be music and nosh and space to wonder any wondering you've ever wondered about keeping kosher for Passover.

We understand access as an ongoing process & conversation; we're excited to work with our community to be maximally welcoming.

  • Covid: Please take a rapid test before coming! We’ll have a few on hand if you forget or don’t have access to one. This event will be inside; masking TBD by those who register. In addition, we'll have air-filters running.
  • There are about 6 steps into our house. Thanks for your patience as we work to make our house more physically accessible.
  • We minimize the use of scents in our house and ask that you do the same when visiting.
  • Food: Our kitchen is ingredient-kosher, meaning everything that comes in is kosher but not necessarily hekshered except for meat, which must be hekchered. If you require hekshered food or have other dietary restrictions, please indicate that on your registration. We’re committed to making sure you have something to eat and may reach out if we have questions about how to best do that.
